France’s Fo Guang Shan Fa Hua Zen Temple Sanhao Children’s Summer Camp ended successfully! On July 16, 2023, the 4-day and 3-night Sanhao Children’s Summer Camp at Fahua Temple in Fo Guang Shan, France was successfully concluded. 49 schoolchildren, 12 team assistants, many mages and teachers completed this unforgettable event. In just four days, the big brothers and big sisters of the Foguang Youth League accompanied the little Bodhisattvas from tidying up, eating, cooking, to painting, singing, games, to lion dance and outdoor activities. They experienced life and With the wisdom of the Dharma, we make good connections and move towards a sound and independent personality. Both schoolchildren and teachers will benefit a lot from it, and it will be an unforgettable experience. The three-good children’s summer camp at Fahua Temple in Fo Guang Shan, France is guided by the abbot Master Jue Rong and Master Jianyuan Miao Xun, and the youth group counselor Master Zhi Zhong personally plans and coordinates. In addition, there are painting teachers Yu Jiafang, Wang Zongpei, music teacher Wei Xiufei, medical teacher Zhou Li, safety teacher Philippe Balutet, publicity teacher Huajing Channe, star officer Xu Mengzhen and other professional teachers from all walks of life to teach together. They let children between the ages of 6 and 12 learn the wisdom of life in joy, and apply the concept of “three good things” – “speak kind words, do good deeds, and keep good intentions” into their daily life. The event was strongly supported by COHEN-TANNUGI Yoan, President of the Bussy ST Georges Synagogue, Hicham Tahiri, President of the Mosque, and Marie Noelle Bijard, Director of the Catholic Church. Leaders and believers of various religions maintained an equal, open and friendly attitude with Fo Guang Shan. They patiently explained the cultural traditions of each religion to the children in the Fo Guang Shan summer camp, shared knowledge, and jointly pursued truth, goodness and beauty. During the summer camp, Sanhao children made DIY creative dishes together with the Foguang youth team, experienced color creation, painted hand-painted lanterns, and experienced the lion dance of traditional Chinese culture. On the eve of the closing ceremony, friends of all ages held a grand bonfire party. In the majestic Buddha Hall, with the blessing of Buddhism, when the little LED lights are lit, it seems to entrust the hopes and dreams of everyone present, and convey love and peace to the world. During the period, the mages celebrated the birthdays of the 6 children in July and had an unforgettable summer camp birthday party. At the closing ceremony, the wonderful performances of each group showed a lot of vitality. The singing and dancing performances at the Sanhao Children’s Summer Camp were lovely and lively. The children’s beating of gongs and drums combined with the Foguang Youth’s lion dance performance was extremely exciting, winning warm applause from the parents of the masters. Master Jue Rong, Chief Abbot of Fo Guang Shan Europe, said at the closing ceremony: Every Sanhao child who participated in the summer camp is excellent, very independent, can help each other in group life, and has the spirit of collective creation. Children have a strong learning ability, find an interest in learning in different courses, and complete various tasks with heart. Especially in these few short days, I know how to tidy up the room, cherish every meal, and thank all the volunteers for their help. In the end, the master reminded the children to always say good things, do good deeds, have good intentions, and take home the three good spirits they have learned.
